Summer blues (bloes)

Sometimes I feel the need to make new clothes...
This time, with the heatwave we are experiencing here in Spain
it had to be something airy, so I designed a simple top

I hardly feel it when I wear it...

I knew there were some fabrics in the cupboard
Remnants of Japanese patchwork fabric (bottom), a panel from a once loved skirt

A fabric that a dear friend gave me years ago (the dots) and the silk fabric at the right side of the top that was part of a thriftstore find!

This is the thing I like so much, making something out of 'nothing'...
You see, it is no problem at all there are no fabric stores around our lovely coastal village

Thanks for reading, grtz

Pods

...

Hi!

Nothing, or almost nothing, to tell from my world in Spain...

Except that it is getting warmer, after a pretty cold (for us) winter, with even some snow on the beaches one day!

With spring getting here, so is the work in the garden...

Our Jacaranda tree is growing bigger every year and produces lots of pods. They are kind of 'wooden' and I collect them in a big bowl where they can show their beauty to me. In some way collections seem to be even more attractive... I see possibilities, think white and black painted, tiny little dots.

But first I have sewing to do, since I bought a lovely stonewashed tablecloth that will be perfect for wide summer pants. No fabric shops in the neighborhood, but hey, we have tablecloths...

Inspired, as so often,

Love,

Just because

... they are so beautiful
I had to show this picture
on my blog today!

For years I have been surrounded and have collected pods...
in some way these hard leftovers of what once was a flower
attract  me even more than flowers themselves

this might be because of their neutral colours, the woodlike structure and in this case of course

a very special kind of dots

I especially remember the screaming orange coloured
 flamboyant trees
in full bloom in July, on the island where we used to live

This is a picture of a lotus pod,
edited in Pixl-o-matic on my tablet with filters
Earl and Night

I like to play with that app sometimes, like this Sunday morning

Happy Sunday, friends!
